Introducing

Lotta Jackson

Namaste.

I was taught that yoga is a way of life and an approach to spiritual awakening, and that to teach, one needs to teach from the heart. I embraced this approach and, in my spirituality, I deeply connect with nature and see humans and nature as “one”, with gratitude and respect for all living things.

My yoga journey then led me to gaining an amazing sense of longing to guide others in the classical teachings of Hatha yoga, from which all other yoga paths stem. I am also qualified in teaching Vinyasa flows, Yin and Restorative Yoga, hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and I am currently studying to become an Ayurveda Lifestyle Coach. Ayurveda is the ‘Science, or knowledge, of life’ and encompasses food, nutrition, herbs, meditation, yoga and natural healing therapies.

My passion is not about me, rather the students I teach, their journey to building awareness of mind, body and spirit using the tool of breathing (pranayama) to nourish and stimulate ‘Prana’ (life force). Prana is the essence of life which we need to live a happy, healthy and satisfying life.

In the practices, I will guide you to use breathing techniques and meditation to still your mind and “take control” over your body in movement and postures (asanas). To mindfully move your body, to connect with your organs, bones and joints, muscles and tissues in your body. To stimulate your curiosity in what you can achieve on your yogic journey.

In Hatha Yoga you will be guided in pranayama and meditation followed by asana postures that we hold for 3-5 breaths. This is to ensure our bodies have time to gain alignment, balance, strength and mind/body awareness. These classes are suitable for all levels as postures can be modified to suit beginners.

In the Rise and Shine practice, you will be guided through a gentle beginning, leading up to an energizing flow, including Sun Salutations, before settling down and getting ready for the day before you.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to guide you and hope to see you on the mat soon!

Lotta
